Anand Kumar was born in Patna, India, on January 1, 1973. He is a well-known Indian math teacher, but his Super 30 programme is what most people know him for. In 2002, he started a programme in Patna, Bihar, to help poor students prepare for exams like the IIT-JEE, which is the entrance exam for the Indian Institutes of Technology. By 2018, he had helped 422 out of 481 students get into the IITs. His work was praised in a documentary on Discovery Channel. So, he went to a government school that taught in Hindi, where he became interested in math. But he was also accepted to the University of Cambridge, but he couldn’t go because his father died and he didn’t have enough money.
