A man named Anand Kumar is 46 years old. He is 168 centimetres tall, which is 1.68 metres or 5’6 feet inches. His skin is kind of brown, and both his eyes and hair are black.
Anand went to Bihar Patna Science College and Bihar National College. In 1992, he started to teach math. But Anand opened his own school, which he called the Ramanujan School of Mathematics. He paid Rs. 500 per month to rent a classroom and began teaching there.
The number of students has grown from 2 to 36, and then later, almost 500 people signed up on their own. When a poor student came to him looking for a place to study for the IIT-JEE, he couldn’t pay the fee to get in, so Anand decided to start the Super 30 programme in 2002. He runs the test at Ramanujan School of Mathematics every May. He used to take care of them well, from giving them food to giving them things to study. His mother used to cook for these kids, and now his brother Pranav is in charge. He wants to teach the students who have enough talent but don’t have enough money.
People know him for his work on the Super 30 programme. He knows a lot about math and is good at teaching it. Discovery channel showed an hour-long episode of Super 30 in March 2009. BBC has talked about him on their shows. In The New York Times, half of the page was about Kumar’s life and his plan. He has also talked about his project and experiences at IIM Ahmedabad, IITs, the University of British Columbia, Tokyo University, and Stanford University, among other places. He got into the 2009 Limca Book of Records because he helped poor children get an education and get into IITs by giving them free coaching.

The “Rashtriya Bal Kalyan Award” was given out by Indian President Ram Nath Kovind. He was named one of the 20 most innovative teachers in the world by the UK magazine Monocle. Anand Kumar was honoured in Dubai on November 8, 2018. Malabar Gold & Diamonds gave him the global education award, and they also gave him a gift.
