A brief cameo as Tyrone in the 2001 movie “Nikita Blues” marked Brandon’s professional debut.

Brandon then made another brief appearance as a Club Goer in Michael Mann’s 2001 biopic of Muhammad Ali, which included Ali in the title role. He also had a minor role in Curtis Hanson’s musical drama 8 Mile from 2002 as Chin Tiki Club Goer.

The next year, he was cast in the comedy-drama Roll Bounce directed by Malcolm D. Lee, where he played the part of Junior. He also appeared in the films Envy and House of Grimm that same year. In the 2007 television movie “Super Sweet 16: The Movie,” he was cast as Brian.
